  • iphone shoretel communicator

I implmented AD in Shortel today and I am trying to setup the shoretel iphone application. I am just testing with wifi and I can hit my shoretel server using the browser on my iphone. When I try to enter the correct info in the app I get "Cannot logon to server. Please check your Account settings or try again later" I have tried an ip address, domain\username, [email protected], proxy on or off, default extention on or off. What am I missing?

I assume I am missing something on the server side.

Can you provide more details? I'm still a little confused about your scenario.

did you enable mobile access on the user properties in the director? for AD you need domain\username

check the firewall on the shoretel server as well - I believe they recommend it be turned off completely

Have you been able to get this to work? If you disable the AD integration for the user does it work? I am working on this same issue and it appears to be the AD integration that is preventing it. Everything works if I disable this. I am just curious if you found a solution.

Check the application event log right after a failed login attempt. Does it give indication of the failed logon reason?

I'm having the same problem, but the user is not AD. Web communicator works from the iPhone, just the app won't log in. It's on WiFi.
Nothing in the event logs. I can see in Wireshark on the server that there is 2 way communication (TCP) between the 2.
