  • Conference Bridge Login Progress Bar Sticks

    Occasionally when users log into conference bridge (v7) using Internet Explorer (Version 7 or Version 8) immediately after entering their credentials the blue progress bar sticks about 3/4 of the way along and the contact list is not displayed.
    Closing and reopening the window and trying again doesn't seem to fix it.
    Neither does clearing temp files, cookies etc...

    Then suddenly it will start working.

    Any idea how to get it to work every time?

    I think we have established that this is something related to Sophos AV.

      Sophos AV

      Same here, disabling the Sophos Web Content Scanner IE add-in allows the login to complete. We have not yet opened a case with Sophos, turned off web URL scanning through enterprise console, or tried with Sophos AV v9.5 yet.

        Resolution

        We were able to resolve this by adding the URL of the conference server to the Local Intranet zone, per Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+: how to centrally exclude sites from being scanned by Sophos web content scanning

        I experimented with SAVCONF.XML, but could not get it to work.

        We used a custom registry entry in Group Policy Preferences to push the setting.
