  • Polycom Handsets

I'm pursuing a potential ShoreTel customer. They currently have Polycom Soundpoint 300, Soundpoint 500, and Soundpoint 600 handsets. They are using a hosted solution via Commx. Customer would like to bring ShoreTel in house but continue to use the Polycom SIP phones.

    ARE THEY COMPATIBLE?

No, We do not support internal SIP, they would be using SIP trunks and creating Offsite extensions much like the Hatachi IP5000 Sip

I believe if the customer stops using commx, and point the polycom phones directly to the shoregear switch with valid SIP resources + purchase SIP phone license, then yes, you should be able to use the polycom phones as SIP endpoints/ phones.

which means the pstn would have to be connected to shoretel direct.
