    got an ip 5000 to set up any ideas? Is it similar to the unidata ones I did some time ago?

    Do you have some screen shots of your set-up of the polycom 7000? I tried to follow the 4011 polycom guide, but there are many questions. I have set up softphones on my mobile devices with the shoretel. I thought this would be easy. Here are a few questions.

    Is it all set-up in the line or in the SIP and line fields of the polycom 7000?
    Is the server to be the Proxy ip address or the SG switch IP address?
    Is the user the name of the user or the extension of the user?
    What is the setting in the ShoreTel user where usually you would put Softswitch, anyone, port number of switch or assign the phone by mac address?

    If I can get it to register, then I will work out the dial plan later.

    Thanks for any screenshots, answers, or assistance.

    I had run through this process a few times using Polycom QuickTip 44011, but i was still having issues. in the end the solution was twofold.
    first i upgraded the IP7000s from SIP 3.1.2 to 3.3.3. Then i changed the codec order - reason being i'm using a 3rd party conferencing bridge from WydeVoice. After playing about a bit i set the codecs in this order... 1-Siren22 64k (for other IP7000) 2-G.722c 32k (for Wyde conf bridges) 3-G.722 (for Shoretel) 4, 5, 6, 7 flavours of G.711 and G.729 (for PSTN)

    K, I did this a while ago, and the pics on my iPhone were blurry...lol

    First go into the Call Director ( aka CD) and check the following:
    1) call control - other : make sure your are not using UDP 5004 for voice exclusively ( it's turned off by default now)
    2) switches -primary: assign a resource port for 100 SIP Proxies
    3) the CD will complain you should assign the switch under the site as SIP virtual proxy. Might as well do it.
    4) users-individual users: add a user as normal, but set the SIP Password on the account (ie 123456) and remember the ext number
    5) on the IP 7000 set login to the admin (default admin pswd 456 )
    6)setup the server address as the ip address of the SG switch you added that 100 SIP proxies on
    7) set the rest of that page up like:
    Port 5060
    Transport UDP Only
    Register YES
    8) set the outbound proxy as the same ip address as the SG switch you used above
    Again port 5060 and transport UDP Only
    9) Line: set this as the ext number of the user account you just created in CD
    Set the next two fields with the same ext and the last field as private ( can't read my own writing sorry!)
    10) in that last field Private set the User ID the ext number you used above and th password you used above (ie 123456) this is where you setup the ip7000's authentication info.
    11) reboot the set and it should authenticate to the ShoreTel as a SIP extension.
    12) make note of the ip address of the unit, because you will want to log into the unit after the restart.
    13) if you are familiar with the ShoreTel LCR , then you should understand the Polycom dial plan. Search the web for the fine turnings of that dial plan. It took me a few minutes to figure it out for overseas dialing, but it is quite doable

    It is doable and works well. Just remember there that you need to log into the IP7000 set and define the dialplan depending of how many digits, otherwise it will give you grief with overseas and LD dialing initially. We even paired to of them together as 1 phone. If I got time tomorrow I'll post how to set it up here...*g/f cracks whip in background*

    It took me a while (even WITH their config guide) to get a few IP 7000's integrated via SIP. Have you been able to figure it out yet?

    How do you set up Polycom IP 7000 with ShoreTel?

    I'm new to ShoreTel and one of my remote customers needs me to add a Polycom IP 7000 to their ShoreTel system. Is there a reference guide that explains how to configure the device AND add it to their setup? I tried searching the ShoreTel Training site and some other forums but didn't exactly find what I was looking for, and I'm trying to avoid having to call support for this. Thanks.
