  • Need to convert into WAV,8bit,8kHz,A-LAW Mono?

I have to convert a Ring Tone into WAV,8bit,8kHz,A-LAW Mono. I tried my best but couldn't convert exactly according to these parameters. Please tell me any software/method by which i can convert my Ring Tone into these parameters.

Depending upon the source file I use one of the following:
Windows Sound Recorder (if it was WAV)
Sony Sound Forge (most other formats)
    "Total Audio Convertor" (coolutils.com)

There are many others as well.

Audacity is a free download, and easy to use.

I have also used Audacity, and used the old "sndrec32.exe" from Windows XP to change the format to ulaw 8bit.
