  • Digital and Analog Fax Services

We have recently put in a multi-tech fax finder and have it working properly for digital faxing, the problem is that all analog faxes are being intercepted by it and sent to the error email address, anyone else have this setup and know of a fix.

    thanks

haha we had the Multi-Tech fax finder. It was a nightmare for us. We did not use it for office use though. So many hours wasted. We returned it.

For the fax not to forward it you have to go into the fax profile on the SWD and turn off the Fax support: to no redirect.

      FaxFinder

We have had 0 issues with our faxfinder.

We have 1 set of DID's for users phone numbers and another set of DID's for their fax numbers. Fax numbers are redirected to the fax finder which has an address book that matches up Digits sent by the Telco to email addresses.

I am not sure what you are asking but if the Digits sent do not match what is in the address book the fax will go to the default error email address account/admin.

I have seen many people make the mistake of entering the full DID number in the address book.

I have also seen people enter the Shoretel Extension# in the Ext# field of the fax finder.....

It worked in many areas perfect, but the one and main area we wanted it to work in failed. We had field users out a homes that where login into a SSL VPN and would fax documents to themselves. The faxes worked only %50 of the time. Besides that the fax finder was great, just had problems over the vpn.

I assume the users are trying to fax over the public internet to their home (DSL or cable modem at home). I've found that faxing over the internet is iffy at best.

Worse, they were faxing over EV-DO cards.
