Anyone have experience with the SDK, good or bad?

    Thanks!

Yes, I have written a sizable number of customs with the SDK. Did you have some specific question?

We're a new customer and was curious as to whether the price of admission is worth it.

I don't know, that would depend on what you're trying to do. If what you need is very simple, then you could try a generic TAPI application, but you will not be able to to e.g. call recording because this is a provider-specific function best used via the SDK.

Can we use the microsoft tapi for things like caller-id driven screen pops, etc?

Yes, you can see calls and get caller ID via TAPI with no device-specific requests, so you should not need the SDK for that. I will note, however, that:

The one other benefit the SDK provides you is a COM object usable from scripting languages. This wraps the nastiness of TAPI and makes it easy to write applications in .NET, JScript, or just about any other language you want.
