  • Browser Integration

Hello. Is there a way to make Internet Explorer or Firefox integrate with the Shoretel call manager so that phone numbers we see on the web become "clickable" links to make calls? I found an extension for Firefox that will do this called "ClickToCall" but it asks me "Provide the URL pattern for your PBX's click to call service". Is there a URL that Shoretel recognizes or is there another way of obtaining this functionality?

    We are using Shoretel 8

    Thanks
    Frank.

There are 3rd party plugins like what your looking at. I would assume the url your refering to is the active url for PCM which is http://(YOUR SHORTEL SERVER)/

whatever it is looking for after that a wml or xml I am not sure

I would look at the 3rd party plugins jlorenz speaks about before purchasing web dialer from ShoreTel. Not only does web dialer "cost a bit" (less than $100 bucks - per user), but you have to pay software support on it annually.

I came here looking for a similar solution but am wondering if there is simply a way to invoke a call by pointing to a url...

From the looks of it, the FF extension seems to use regular expressions to find phone numbers and create links out of them that simple replace the phone number in the url. So it seems what I'm looking for must be possible before you can use the plugin.

For example "http://myshoretelserver.com/dial/4125551212" would dial 412-555-1212... is there anything like this on a shoretel setup?

I'm not very experienced with this and have been given a task to try to integrate our current intranet with our new shoretel system.
