  • Holiday Schedule *HOURS*

It would be good to be able to define hours for a holiday schedule in addition to specific days.

There are several times a year when we may not be closed the entire day for a holiday, but we will close early. For example we have a client right now that is planning to close at noon on Friday for the upcoming Christmas Holidays. With the current holiday scheduling they can put Saturday-Tuesday in as Holidays and trigger the appropriate AA Greeting, but the only way to get Friday afternoon in there would be to wait until just before they leave for the day Friday and add it as a holiday then.

Would a second on-hours schedule with just the hours needed work?

What about doing a custom schedule for the AA. It is driven by the hours and date.

Both of these options *might* work to implement this, however it rather negates some of the advantages of having the holiday schedule, as either of these options would require changing to this custom schedule just prior to needing to use it, where as if I know a month in advance, or even at the beginning of the year advance that we're going to close at noon on the Friday before Christmas, I would like to be able to add this to the Holiday schedule at that point in time..

I agree totally that there should be a time field in the Holiday schedule. It would be better if the time field were optional.

Another great enhancement to Holday and Custom schedules would be the ability to specify a range of dates.

+1 vote on both time and range of dates.
We'd also like to see the Holidays list by DATE rather than alphabetically by name - or better yet, let the user click on a header to sort it.

              Holiday Date Range

A range of times and dates would be great. Just came to the forum to see how to handle the upcoming Memorial Day weekend where we will be closed both on Saturday (typically open half day) and Monday and also want to alert callers on Friday night and Sunday of our schedule. It looks like the best option is to set Friday night as a custom schedule and to set up each day separately as a holiday within the Schedule named "Memorial Day" to cover Friday night and each day of the entire weekend.

It would also be nice to have an easy way to save and import custom and holiday greetings as a wav file from ShoreTel Director Holiday Schedule form. Maybe this can be done but it seems that the only way I can figure to do this is to go to the \Shoreline Data\Prompts folder on the server and search and copy the wav file. Since it was the most recent .wav file in this folder it relatively easy to find, copy and rename file (MemorialDay.wav) and then import it for the custom greeting and save to retrieve for next year. Is there an easier way to do this or to associate specific holiday schedules with specific custom recordings?

Can anyone tell me the precendence for schedules or which schedule will be honored if there are two that have the same time period? For example, we are open for a half day today. At noon, I'm going to tell ShoreTel it's a Holiday so our auto attendent notifies people we are off in observance of the holiday. But we have an office two time zones earlier that needs to stay open for a couple of hours. Can I set up a custom schedule for this site for the two hours? Will the custom schedule take precedence over the Holiday schedule? Or will the holiday schedule override the custom one? I didn't think to test this earlier, so I'm hoping someone can help me out. Thanks!

I believe lowest to highest it is:
                  On-Hours
                  Holiday
                  Custom
