Software Adjustment of MOH Volume

We are currently using a DJ Quality rackmount CD Player. It only has RCA, digital, and Balanced outs. No volume control.

External adjustment is one option, however since MOH does not span sites, if I have 20 sites with 20 different MOH sources and wanted to adjust the volume on each, then I am driving my happy ass all over the midwest....... or the engineers could think about a software volume control.

Or better yet, allow the MOH source to stream from switch to switch across all sites. You would only need one stream between each site. It would not take a lot of bandwidth. I would then be alright with using external adjustment because it would only need to be adjusted at ONE place.

Now that I think of it, I think I want the enhancement to be the ability to have ONE MOH source stream from site to site (between the switches, not for each endpoint... to save bandwidth).

They gave you half of your wish.... at least with the new SG switches. You can adjust the gain on the MOH port via Director on the 50, 90, 220T1 and 220T1A.

why? external adjustment is easier. What kind of MOH setup are you using??

There should be a software volume control in the switches controlling Music on Hold.
