Welcome to ShoreTelForums.com!

This site was created as a place to share stories, tips, and troubleshooting help with ShoreTel/Mitel systems. Please feel free to join and share your experiences.

  • Batch Update Upgrades

This is just a list of wishes for the batch update utility. I have talked to several ShoreTel employees lately who said that there is work being done on improving the batch utility for future versions, so I figured we should speak up and at least mention what we want to see in it. (Note these should be things not already included in the improved 9.1 utility)

    1) Allow shoftphone
    2) Caller ID
    3) Fax support
    4) Client password (for those clients who want a custom default password)
    5) VM password (Same)
    6) IM Server
    7) Call Stack Size
    8) Auto off hook
    9) Call Waiting Tone
    10) Button Programming
    11) API allowed
    12) MCM allowed

I am sure that there are more things that would benefit from the power of a batch update utility, but this is just the list of things that I get frustrated with when someone changes their mind and I have to go do them all one at a time.

Any setting that can be set the same on more than 1 user should be in the batch update utility. I would really like call handling options to be included such as delegation and allow more than 1 extension to be added at a time.

I just thought of one more, the "Jack" field should be able to be updated in a more efficient manner, whether this is through the batch update utility or something else there should be an easy way to assign a large group of them at once (especially since ShoreTel's Code Blue software uses that field in emergency situations).

I would love to see a "copy to" feature for button programming. Having to pull button layouts from other phones takes as long as programming them on a 230... the batch update utility seems like a logical place to do this. Actually, if you could assign button programming to user groups (like you can with toolbars) that would be handy

I agree with Shep, if it can be shared, it should be easily copyable.
