  • Call Manager login info should be extension and VM password

It seems a bit overkill to have to assign a different username and password for the Call Manager to connect to the server. Wouldn't it be easier from a deployment perspective if users were just prompted to enter their extension and voicemail password to be connected properly to the server? I realize that it is not as secure as an alphnumeric password option, but it is much easier from a deployment perspective.

Or perhaps authenticate against active directory so that it is single sign on...

      AD Authentication

      LDAP authentication........

      what?

      no

I want separate credential databases for EVERY one of my programs.......

Job security dictates that I keep track of 5000 passwords per user.

Although I agree that LDAP authentication would be great, I think the implementation of the voicemail password would be much simpler for ShoreTel.

Although, I hope LDAP appears someday....

Conference Bridge does LDAP... It would be awesome if the main IPBX did too.
