  • Ringdown Speaker

Customer currently has a Speaker box at the front door (panasonic). I need to tie this (or something similar) to the Shoretel system. It does not have the door lock, just a speaker box. Suggestions? Customer is running 7.5, not 8.0 (and they won't upgrade for sometime).

Look at viking's website they have a lot of door entry systems that tie into phones systems. I put a viking door entry box in for a customer and it had a speaker and a call button that I had ring a group of ShoreTel phones.

Would the viking K-1900-5 (autodialer) be used with the e-20b (door speaker box), and be tied into the SG box? Would this be a trunk group or an extension? http://www.vikingelectronics.com/products/

Its been a long time, but I think I added a analog trunk group and modified it via support mode. Add ;1G;1I the dial string which turns off the dial tone detection and DTMF. I beleive then I added a off system extension and wired the door box to the trunk directly, created a hunt group of phones to be alerted and put that huntgrp # in the trunk group destination.
Its a little fuzzy, but that is the jist of what I did, if I remember more details I'll post it.
There is a tech doc on setting up the trunk group via support mode.
          Hope that helps

I used the e-20b with the 200A; they have the extension or trunk option for contacting the inside phones, so both the door boxes wired to the viking controller and the I wired the trunk port to the viking controller. So when the button was pushed on the call box it would hit the open trunk and to the huntgroup. If you only have one door box and no door strikes then I would just go with the e-20b, with my rambling I'm making to sound more difficult then it is; very easy setup.
