Alright, I was about to put the switch in the trash. I had the burnflash cmd ready to enter on the hq server. I had to edit the boot parameters again on the switch to boot from flash=0. I just kept spamming the cmd and finally it went through after it booted. I had a very short window because the switch would reboot within seconds after coming back online. Once the burn flash cmd starts the switch didn't reboot until it was done. It is stable and I ran a couple test calls through.

For anyone else the cmd goes like this:

    Open CMD as administrator

    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Shoreline Communications\ShoreWare Server
or depending on where it is saved
    cd C:\Program Files\Shoreline Communications\ShoreWare Server

    BurnFlash.exe -s 192.168.0.0 / insert your switch ip here.

Quick tip: use the up arrow key to run the last command again, in my case since I had to spam the cmd before it rebooted this saved me.

    Thank you Lance and bwall

That's what I would suggest as well.

it is a SG-8 made back in 2004. I can't find anymore detailed information about boot settings.
The screen shots i see you were already past were you can bypass the shell. The screen to see the root commands would have been about 10 to 15 seconds after the switch was powered on.

Im glad you got it working

I think I figured it out. at the end of the vxworks ? dialog it says available boot devices fei1, fei2.

So I selected (C) for change boot parameters.
    I changed flash=00 to flash=1
I then selected (@) to reboot

After that it ran just fine!

    I hope this helps someone.

It will boot right up and then about 30 seconds in it does a check and then goes into another boot. I stopped it and these are the options I get.

Each version of the switches have slightly different commands but they are all the same. You have to break the boot cycle to prevent the shoretel shell from running.

I have it disconnected from the network and I'm connecting through the maintenance port. I hard reset it probably 20 times trying different vxworks commands, it just fails every time.

That's rough, I'm in a little over my head. I wouldn't even know where to start. I tried doing the hard reset and that didn't make any difference. Do you know if there is any instruction hiding somewhere for the vxworks values that should be set?
