DHCP settings – You will need to add option 156 to your DHCP server.
Creating the Option
Open DHCP manager on your server
Right-click the DHCP server and select Set pre-defined options
Click Add
Set the Name to IP Phone Boot
Set Data Type to String
Set code to 156
Description can be blank
Value of data string is –
ftpservers=<Server IP>, country=1, language=1, layer2tagging=<0=disabled 1=enabled>, vlanid=<ID your selected if any, otherwise 0>
Now if you click on your DHCP scope you can right click on the scope and select configure options.
Select option 156 for the phones.
You will also want to enable option 004 and set the IP to your time server. That way the phones will display the correct time.
------------------------------------------------------------
Once that is complete you can take an IP phone and plug and play. If the phone has old configs in it, when the phone boots – put in the password and select to reset all options. Then # through the different settings, leaving them blank.
