  • DHCP and time server

I can manually input the time server ip address and it works fine. How does one get DHCP to push it out? I don't see it in option 156

you must add a custom vendor specific option, it is not there by default.

Time is Option 42 on your DHCP server.

You can either set a local server as the time source or you can use a public time server.

      Here's one that I use: 69.25.96.13

Thanks for the responses. I ended up having the network admin add option 004 to their DHCP.

004 will work but it has been depricated by 042. Best to use 042 in the future.
