  • Backing up the DataBase

I see a lot of posts about backing the DB up but none that really give you a step by step procedure.

I want to upgrade my current 7.0 to 7.5 and want to know exactly how to back up the entire system in case I have to roll back.

What do I need to do in order to back the system up for upgrade and what are the proper commands that I need to use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I sent you info on this.

Simply copy off the entire ShoreLine Data Folder and all its sub folders

Prior to Upgrade Shut all ShoreTel Services down
Got to the Drive holding \Shoreline Data
    Right mouse click Choose Copy
    Right Mouse Click choose Paste

This will create a file/directory called "Copy of Shoreline Data"

    now your safe to upgrade.

If the upgrade fails and to roll back

    Delete
    \Shoreline Data folder
Rename Copy of Shoreline Data to Shoreline Data
    Reinstall 7.0 version

      Back up DB

      J,

Thanks...my current version is 7.0...my thought was to upgrade to 7.5 and then again to 8.1 leaving a little bit of soaking time in between.

      Thanks,
      Marcus
