  • How to connect a Bogen TPU-100B for overhead paging

We are trying to connect a Bogen TPU-100B for overhead paging. We have tried to connect via the paging port on a SG-24A on one end and the 2 wires screwed into ports 3 and 4 (MIC Bal) on the Bogen with no luck. We have also tried connecting to ports 6 and 7 (Tel) on the Bogen, again with no luck. If you cannot connect via the paging port on the SG switch, can you connect as an analog extension? We do not have any analog trunk ports on the SG switches, only analog extension ports.

Are you using a STEREO plug? If not, you must. 6&7 are correct. You probably will need a WMT-1A to balance it to 600 ohms. They are cheap. Or call Bogen, they have a good support team.

You absolutely need to be using the stereo plug. Connect the "RING" and "SLEEVE" to the terminals 6+7 "TEL" and adjust the tel volume. Don't connect the tip to anything and you should be good to go. If that doesn't work, plug headphones into the page port and make sure you are outputing audio. If you get a audible buzz through the overhead speakers, you will probably need the adapter VJ is talking about. Good luck..

I think the TPU is a telephone interface module and it should have dip switches for setting the interface to use an analog extensions, trunk or strictly an audio imput, could be mistaken. How many modules are connected to the TPU?

If you can spring for a UTI1, then you can run paging over analog extrension, night ringer etc. They run about $160 on ebay. Have a few of them running and work great.
