  • Call Manager Outlook Voicemail Integration

I have run into the following problem with multiple customers that we've installed Shoretels for and really need a solution or workaround.

Any Windows XP machine running SP3, Office 2007, Call Manager 8.1, profile linked to Exchange server, Exchange System manager (IT folks), cannot install the PCM voicemail integration.

I know there is a conflict when the Exchange System Manager is installed, this conflicts with the MAPI and or CDO subsystems, but even if the user removes the Exchange SM the integration still never succeeds.

I have tried adding the ShoreWare Voicemail service manually, results in constant prompting for the Outlook profile, which never seems to work.

Have tried manually installing the Shoretel voicemail custom form, nothing seems to happen.

Only workaround that is successful is a complete rebuild of Windows and Office 2007, which is obviously not acceptable when trying to tell customers how good the PCM is...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi James

Unfortunately you new the problem going in.
I know there is a conflict when the Exchange System Manager is installed,
and the fix is Not as stated or as painful

You should be able to remove the ESM and then run rebuild on the Outlook install.

As for PCM, uninstall PCM, before Reboot, go Regedit HKLM>Software and delete the two branches of ShoreTel

Reboot and install. That should work.

I understand the frustration, but the stickler is, Sticking to and Installing ShoreTel on their REQUIREMENTS.

Please show me the document that states the REQUIREMENTS that you cannot run Exchange System manager along with PCM.
By the way, I tried your suggestions and it still does not allow the integration to install.

Read the Release notes and PIG. Does it show Outlook Exchange System Manager?

I fully understand your frustration with the install and documentation, I merely point out that 99% of the time the issue is due to configuration and or not adhering to the recommendations set forth.
