  • Version 9 Voicemail port failure

    Hi All

I am a newbie installer. I have just setup v9 Director a switch and some handsets. At this point I should be able to log a user onto a handset, but the voicemail is not working. After a few rings I get the AA. Looking at the application log I see this error.

Event ID 422. Source Shoreware. Type Error. Category Voice Mail Port Manager.

    The text is as follows.
Voice mail has failed to open the required lines for proper operation. This may indicate a failure of the Telephony Management Server or Software Telephony Switch.

Looking in the logs in c:\shorelinedata\logs\ I see errors like these :-

16:20:33.623 ( 2688: 4184) [PM] ER: Voice mail has failed to open the required lines for proper operation. This may indicate a failure of the Telephony Management Server or Software Telephony Switch.(null)
16:21:33.618 ( 2688: 4184) [PM] Failed to open all voice mail lines 0 currently opened

Has anyone seen this, or can anyone offer a suggestion?

    Regards

    Hi All

I have got this working. In case someone else comes across it. The problem was either.

    1. Dual network adapters.
    2. Not enough free disk space.

I had 2.5Gig free disk space and I extended the partition.
I also disabled one network adapter.

Everything now works, but if I try to enable the network adapter the server crashes, so I can't tell you which fix was the one that worked. I was hoping to dual home the server as it is my demo box, but I am not going to bother now. It works.

    Regards

Dual active network adapters is normally a bad thing with ShoreTel. That was probably your problem.
