OK, I have heard rumors that Shoretel IP phones will be bluetooth compatable in V7 as long as the rev on the phones are after a certain level. Try as I might I can't seem to find that piece of info.
Anyone know for sure one way or the other?

    Bluetooth coming? Yes.
Available now? Not to my knowledge.
Now there are additional headset features in seven, like call pickup from a CS50... but no actual bluetooth integration...yet.

No bluetooth, as Charles said. You can review the features of 7.0 on Shoretel's website. Most likely see a bluetooth phone in 7.5 or 8.0.

We have several people using their cell phone bluetooth headsets with the softphone. Works really well for some, not so well for others. Some people just don't get the softphone thing.

I guess that is why I don't listen to rumors
and probally why I couldn't find anything on the site.

Any details on how the Cs50/Cs55 thing works?

Rumors could be true...and then maybe they're not

In ShoreTel 7, when using a wireless headset like the CS50 you no longer need to use the handset lifter as the phone will use the signal sent when you press the call pickup/hangup button on the CS50 to make the phone go off hook without actually going offhook physically.

At first, I didn't understand the big deal about a bluetooth phone, I mean we have headsets, right? Well, my boss enlightened me (yes...I have a boss!). He has a bluetooth headset for his Blackberry. With the phone being bluetooth, he could pick up calls from either phone if they were both in range. Kinda makes since. Personally, I'm never in the office...so I don't care.

How is the Bluetooth integration? I see the check box in 7.5. is it plug and play or is there more?

Version 7.5 will support bluetooth via the IP565 phone. We have placed an order for several 565G phones, so I will be giving it a test drive soon with my Plantronics headset.

We've had 2 IP565's for awhile. I haven't tried the bluetooth feature recently (when we first got them, it was operational yet). It seems pretty simple. You use the phones options button to pair the headset. The Headset button even turns BLUE (pretttttyyyyy).

You need to place the headset in pair mode. Pairing Plantronics Voyager 510 is a breeze. Just hold the call control (side button) and the volume up button simultaneously; the headset will go into the pairing mode (led with flash between red/blue).

On your phone, go to options (enter your password), then option 7 (bluetooth), select edit and then have the phone search for your headset. Once located you need to enter the headset passcode, probably 0000 and your good to go!

                              Gotta be more!

There is no option 7 with our sets in our 7.5. Everything is paired and such but no cigar because ( I guess) there is no Potion 7 to edit.
