  • Problems with Nortel Analog ports calling out a Shoretel

The problem I am having is the System wide problem with Alarms systems and Credit card machines that are analog ports off of a opt 61c pbx and a sg/t1 tied to the Shoretel going out the Shoretel with two Pri's. the Tie between are programed as qsig . Having no problems with any fax machines just the ports that are hooked up to alarms systems and credit card machine . Has any body ran across this?

Why are you running the alarms through the system. Alarms need a certain voltage that only a c.o. trunk can put out. That may causing the problem. Do you have a copper trunk?

What is the problem? Are you not able to dial to the outside world from CC or alarm? Is the problem bi-directional or just one way? Where does the call stop, is it at the Nortel, ShoreTel or between the to? If you use the trunk test tool do you see the call hitting a trunk?

I agree a 1fb for the alarm systems should be used but they do use a analog port off the Nortel and there is just no handshaking between systems did find a doc on shoretel about a format fsk that adt systems use but the alarm company does not use that format. What we end up doing is putting one of the pri's back on the nortel for the alarms and credit card machines and problem cleared... Again analog on voip systems or running through them not much luck... Maybe it will get better in the furture.

            Nortel to Shoretel trunking error

I have had a simialr problem, I have a PRI between the Nortel and Shoretel and dial station to station, but when I try to place a long distance call to the Nortel it is not completing. I did a DCH trace on the Nortel an it responded with the digits recieved 1+NPA+NXX+XXX. I would outpluse from the Shortel 9+1+areacode+7digts. Any Thoughts.
