How does the CAL compare to the MB license as far as cost go?
I imagine it will take some time before there will be an influx of Exchange server 2007, but do you see MS trying to bring their own IP line out? Or are they partnered with Cisco (since it seems Cisco is the only SIP compliant)?

Keep in mind that Nortel and Microsoft have formed a strategic alliance. Nortel has been in pretty bad financial shape and MS consistently uses acquisitions to enter markets.

Microsoft is signing partners for their communication server which is going to support SIP. From what I gather on the product it will be 100% software based.
