  • How to Access The ShoreTel Database With A SQL Editor

Although it is not recommend to edit or modify the internal database of your system there may come a time where it is needed. I recommend taking a backup of all data before you attempt to alter or modify anything. Its always better to be safe. The most common reason to access the database outside of director would be due to a miscount in license usage vs actual visible users. This happens less with Connect but could happen very easily in older versions of Shoretel due to browser incompatibilities.

To access the database you need local access to the system and a database editor like SQLyog Community Edition or similar. Once you install your database editor you will need a few key values

    BASIC INFORMATION NEEDED TO CONNECT

    MySql Host Address: localhost
    Username: root
    Password: shorewaredba
Port #: 4308 (not all versions of ShoreTel use the same ports)

Once you have your basic connection you can verify the connection with the test button
