  • Anyone running Call Manager and/or Outlook over Citrix?

I was an installer 4 years ago, certified on ShoreTel 4. Got a new job and finally convinced the company to replace our 15 yr old system with a ShoreTel. We have 2 sites installed and run Call Manager and Outlook over Citrix.

We ran into quite a bear with getting the voicemail to properly display in Outlook via Citrix and I can provide a lot of information if anyone else needs it.

Just curious to see who else runs Citrix and Shoretel...

    Hey Matt,

I have a couple of clients that are running Shoretel 6.1 over Citrix. I have not heard of any direct problems that you mentioned in your post.

Did you follow the procedure in the Installation and Planning Guide regarding term/citrix services?

Yes, the problems were not with the actual Call Manager, but with our Outlook.

We have Outlook published also, and our local profiles on the servers are deleted upon logoff. So the form that gets installed into \docs & settings\username\local settings\app data\microsoft\FORMS that displays the cassette tape and the player for voicemail (FRMCACHE.DAT) would get blown away as soon as the user logs off. There was no permament way to store this in the roaming profile as I had hoped (this was after working with the TAC over several days).

What I did was to install Call Manager on a Citrix console and get the form. I copied it to a network share and wrote a script that first calls Outlook and then overwrites the FRMCACHE.DAT that Outlook creates with the one that has the ShoreTel voicemail form in it.

It is still working to this day, so knock on wood and cross your fingers.

Kewl, glad that worked out, and actually i have a client that is moving to citrix and using outlook and this may come in handy. My other 2 clients are using linux mail system, so we just forward the messages as attached wav files. thx again
