  • mismatch 7.5 and IP530

I updated from ver 7.0 to 7.5 tonite. Needed 7.5 to deploy
new IP115 phones next week. My IP530 phones still report
firmw mismatch even after a reset. The vast majority of my
phones are 530 , so need an answer soon as possible.
I have vendor support, but no response from them till Monday.
    Any info appreciated.
I will post solution when I have it

Have you tried to manually reboot the phones? Maybe just unplug the PoE switch to reset them at the same time?

Also, are you using any Custom Ring tones?

Power of/on to reset should do the trick. As with most things in ShoreTel there's lots of ways to accomplish the task. For example:
      A) You can also manually reset the phone from ShoreWare Director from Quicklook.
Put a check in the radio button next to the phone.
      Select Reset
      Click on the Execute button
      B) From the phone you can hold the mute button and press RESET# (73738#) from the phone's keypad.

Did you check out the Release Notes for 7.5?
      1) You have to upgrade Call Manager too. Be careful here with Vista machines.
      2) On IP115 phones there was an issue reported with Extreme switches. You need to upgrade your firmware on the switch to a specific version - can't recall off the top of my head but I can find it if needed.

        Phone Firmware

I have a few phones that have newer firmware listed causing a "firmware mismatch" to be listed.

I tracked these phones back to a group that was recently purchased. I can only assume that they shipped from the factory with newer firmware than I was running and they did not/do not auto downgrade.

          May need newer build ?

Y, I did the phone reset, Ive been using ST over 3 yrs now.
My first equip is all Shoreline (blue 2 tone) Old School baby !

The DVD I recd was build 12.13.1328
I found release note for bld 12.14.1806,
I mentions a fix for Director inaccurately listing FW mismatch.
It makes me think phones are OK, but web UI just has a little bug.

          12.14.1806 =
          Build Date: Feb. 27, 2008
          fixed in 12.14.1806
1-26472049 Quick Look shows "firmware mismatch" on IP Phones

          will let you know

This is accurate, there was a bug (we actually reported this one) with the 5x0 series (all run the same firmware) where they reported a mismatch even though the firmware was correct. This started occuring a couple builds before they fixed it in 12.14.1806.
