  • Getting a call back once you have transferred

    Hi,
A user asked how she can get a call back once she has transferred it, rather than it going to voice mail.
    Any ideas?

What exactly do you mean "get a call back?"

      Hi Sean,

When the user is transferring a call but no one is picking the phone up.

She can do a consultive transfer and wait until she hears voicemail of the user and then cancel the transfer and talk to the person? Is this what you are trying to do? I don't believe there is any way to complete a transfer and then have it ring back on the originating callers phone.

          Hi jmitchell,

She is not using the software just the IP110 phone.

Ok then this is probably not going to work the way I just outlined. I don't think this is possible with a IP110 set.

                IP Phone

Give her a better handset, something with a screen and softkeys.

She can transfer and using the softkeys decide if she wants to complete the transfer or cancel the transfer (get the call "back).

cheap solution and simple to deploy

IP230 or IP265 (depending on number of monitored extensions). She can "Cancel" on the softkeys.
Also, why doesn't she have ShoreTel Call Manager (even Personal) deployed?
