  • What's Best POE Adapter for Shoretel 560 or 230?

I purchased the Dlink DWL P50 (D-Link Power over Ethernet (PoE) Adapter) and it doesnt work with either phone at 5Volts or at 12Volts.

This is very critical to having a phone by way of VPN off-site. We sure do Oppose to forking over 130-200 dollars for POE switch, for each individual phone.

What would be our best solution here?

    We run Shoretel 7 w/ 560 and 230 phones.

Your ShoreTel partner can get you the power bricks, they are normally also available on eBay, but I would use caution on eBay. If you buy a used brick and it damages your phone, you're then out both a brick and phone.

We've successfully used the PowerDsine 3001 (100Mb) and 3001G (Gigabit) power adapters. They are the same as the ShoreTel branded ones, but I think the pricing may be better. You can purchase them from PCMall, Insight.com, CDW, etc.

I've seen Airlink's 4POE+4regular port switch for as low as $49. I've used those to setup demo's.

                  Power Injector

I am not quite sure why one wouldnt get the shoretel power injector.

That being said, in "theory" they are all the same right.....
