  • AT&T Answer Notification

    Just checking to see if anyone has run into this. Our customer has a PRI from their local and LD provider that works fine. The ShoreTel has been in place for a year now with no dialing issues. They have found a single 1-800 number that cannot successfully be dialed though. It turns out it is an AT&T toll free number. Upon questioning AT&T claims that this is a common VOIP issue and it is because we are not sending the last frame of the answer notification followed by the first frame of voice. They will not send the answer confirmation until we do. This results in a scenario where the call builds just fine, but both ends are waiting for the other before initializing audio.
