  • How to Enable Web Access?

Hi All - want to find out how to enable Web Access for my 265's & 565's.
    Thanks

Web access is the ability to go to a web page hosted by the server from your PC and change some user settings. This was implemented for those who could not get VPN access or the required speed to run PCM remotely. It is either set up for everyone or closed to everyone. It is not affected by the model of phone in any way.

No, there is some sort of web interface for the phones. There is an .xml file on the phone, or something like that. I saw the guys at work messing with it.

Regarding the item Bobby Digital saw, You will need a Phone API license for each phone on which you wish to enable it. Then you'll have to write an XML file which uses the proper tags to specify what is displayed on the phone and how to interact with it. A full API document, example code, etc. are available via the ShoreTel developer network.

Thanks gang...but I thought the Web Access functionality was available regardless (and without coding!)
What would the address be for an individual phone? The IP?

What do you want "web access" from a phone to do? Web access per the documentation works as I described, and the phone API is what Palitto described, what else did you have in mind, I am not aware of another feature that could be called this.

This is accessed from a computer, not from a phone. Simply hit the URL

                http://<shoretel server>/shorewarewebclient/
