  • Specifying IP setting in the config file that gets loaded upon boot up.

    Does anyone know if you can specify IP, Subnet, gateway, etc in the config file that gets read in when a phone boots up. This would be the file labeled shore_XXXXXXXXXXXX.txt (where X is the MAC address of the phone) that resides in the inetpub directory on the Shoretel server. I have a few phones that I want to read in this custom file. If it can be done, would anyone know where I can find a listing of the parameters?

    I've been able to specify the following;

    ftpservers
    layer2tagging
    vlanid

    But do not if other parameters can be specified.

    Thanks -
    Grant

    If the phone has no IP, how does it get the ftp file?

      I'm thinking the phone boots up using DHCP, contacts the Shoretel server, gets the config file.

      Reason I want to do this is, our netwrok admin is having problems setting up our DCHP server for the vlan at this branch.

      I'm trying to get the phone to read in this file to give our network admin some time to diagnose the problem.

        You could use DHCP reservations to specify the precise settings you would like to stuff into your phone.

          Why not work on resolving the DHCP issues? What problems are you having getting DHCP working properly?
