  • Resetting a shoregear50

    Hi,
    I moved a shoregear50 to a new site and I can't get it on the network. I didn't bring the correct serial cable but managed to get a DB9, but can't connect to the switch using HyperTerminal.

    I called support and they told me I could reset the switch, and that it would get an IP via DHCP.

    I held the reset button in until the unit clicked, and I have done this several times but I haven't seen it request and IP. Is there anything more to resetting the current config?

    Any suggestions?

    Are you using the correct settings for hyper terminal? 19200, 8bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no handshake

    Are you certain that your DHCP server is up and handing out addresses?
