  • Music on Hold / speakerphone

I know this is a stupid question but this feature was used on our previous phone system. On our old intersmel system we could press 313 and listen to the music that was being piped to our customers on hold through the speaker phone. Can shoretel do something like that? maybe with a toolbar button???

I would also like to know if there was a way to do this. I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Same situation with us, customer could do it with old system but cant now with ShoreTel.

It can't (and shouldn't) be done. MoH is an audio stream from the server. Each phone that would 'Play' this MoH, would have there own audio stream always going, i.e., BANDWIDTH HOG.

This is where TDM and VoiP differ.

Thats what I was told and how it was described to me yesterday. And I agree and understand the reasoning. Even if a few people do it, could be alot of bandwidth used causing unneeded congestion.

Ring your own DID. That should do it already. If not, put yourself on hold.

Not sure why you'd want to do this for reasons other than testing though.

this is the answer had been looking for.

need some simple method to determine clarity, and other attributes of MoH.
