Often I'm called to troubleshoot a client whose Outlook 2003 is essentially hung, and I find the STMapiRd process consuming 100% cpu. I assume it is parsing the OST and archive PST files to cull contacts.
The default configuration for reading contacts seems to include every private and public folder address book, as well as any archive files that are connected to the Outlook client.
Reconfiguring the PCM to not read the archives seems to fix this, but doing this to a hundred users is going to be grueling. Is there a reg key or automatic install that I can put together that deconfigures the import configurator from reading the archives?
Anyone else seeing this?
