  • DirectAccess (Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7)

Has anyone done any testing with DirectAccess and Shoretel yet? I'm planning to impliment Server 2008 R2 with DirectAcess for Win 7 clients and would love to have some idea whether or not Shoretel has been tested in this config, specifically I'd want users to be able to use the softphone. Apart from installing IPV6 on the shoretel server would there be any other config options? Will there be an issue connecting to the switch since as far as I know it doesn't support IPV6? Or does the client not need to connect to the switch, just the server? Any plans for supporting IPV6 on the switch?

There are a lot of questions in there but I'm basically just trying to get a feel for this technology and if anyone has tried it out or not.

    Thanks

Being that I have shoretel running on Server 2003 this has proven to be a bit trickier than I would have liked, I have DirectAccess working on all of my 2008 servers but I can only ping the 2003 Server, I believe I need to do some more IPv6 configuration since 2003 does not support isatap tunneling. I will let you know what I figure out... as of right now it looks like this will be much easier for those who have server 2008 hosting their shoretel server...

I know this post is very old but I thought I would comment on the 2008 server part. I have Shoretel installed on Windows 2008 R2. We use a Windows 2012 DirectAccess server with Windows 7/8 clients. All software seems to work even things that are installed on Windows 2003 except for the Shoretel communicator. It is unable to connect. It seems that you have to be able to support IPv6 on the client side. The server side doesn't matter as DA does a IPv6 to IPv4 translation. Does anybody know when Shoretel will be adding IPv6 support?

            Thanks,
            Andreas
