  • TCP/UDP Ports needed for IP phones

Hello, I am new to ShoreTel and The IP phones. An answer I need to provide to a new customer we will be installing is which TCP/UDP ports are used for voice traffic so he can set for QOS? Im assuming TCP port 21 and UDP port 5004 for the phones, and UDP port 5554 for the button box? ANY advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!

UDP 5004 is from the old days before Shoretel introduced SIP support. You'll want to configure qos based on DSCP value instead.

Under Call Control -> Options set the DiffServ/TOS value to be 184.

Your customer can then configure LAN/WAN equipment to prioritize based on the EF bit.

Depending on the number of locations, amount of bandwidth, type of existing traffic, etc. you may need to configure QOS for other Shoretel traffic (i.e. PCM).

Ok, so the value of EF should be 184/46?

        Thanks!
