  • Best FoIP Solutions?

We are looking to integrate fax over ip and was curious to know the best FoiP soluition Shoretel would work with. I have been reading that it does not play well with all of them. Any recommendations??

    Thanks!

Mediatrix devices work well. We set them up to FAX over the WAN (point to point T-1) and they work flawlessly. They take some configuration but once that is setup they are pretty stable. I believe we used an 1102.

Make sure you have the latest firmware. Well that was needed when we did the install about 1.5 years ago. THe out of the box firmware might be good now.

    Hope this helps.

I have demo'd a multitek fax finder and that worked pretty slick. It was a fax server that configures easily in with shoretel. You can set up user extensions to receive fax's. Then they see it ring to their phone. They don't answer the call and it pumps the fax to their email.

One thing I don't understand about the Multitech Fax Finder is the number of ports. If only one port is needed to interface with the ShoreGear switch, why would you need an 8-port fax server? Are the ports for concurrent faxes? Anyone know?

EDIT: nvm, I answered my question by calling them direct. The ports ARE for concurrent faxes when used with a PRI.

I did some research on multitek faxfinder and it seems to be fairly promising. What kind of cost should i expect to see from this? I have about 300 users, but only about 40 would need to send receive faxes.

We have the 4 port model and it works great. We paid around 2000.00 for ours through I believe CDW. I have no complaints with the FaxFinder appliance and for us spread out over 2 locations it was a great investment

Does anyone have experience with the T.38 Multi-Tech Fax Finder. We have used the analog version. I just want to make sure that I can confidently recommend the T.38 version.

We use GFI Faxmaker, which works pretty well ShoreTel.
