  • Network scan not reading passed ShoreTel Phones

I am trying to do a network scan of all my devices. The problem I am having is that my scan does not go passed the shoretel phones. I have most of my workstations connected to the phones. The Ip phones are all on a different subnet, and my workstations are all on a different subnet. I am wondering if anyone has a resolution to this problem.

    Thanks

I have been using Spiceworks as well as another network scanner referred to as The Dude

I am not familiar with either of those tools. Is this an IP-based scan or a topology scan? For topology scans, I would doubt that ST phones would speak LLDP to report the device on the other port. For IP-based, I don;t see how the phone could be blocking it. The phone itself just acts like a 3-port switch.

I have not worked with a lot of these tools, but I have experimented with some. This one seems decent: Network Monitoring, Secure & Managed File Transfer, & Messaging - Ipswitch.com
