  • How Can I Prevent Callers from reaching ext/DID?

We have a programmer in house. Because of the sheer volume of calls directed at this particular person, I want to block calls to that extension, preferably inside and out.

I have the extension hidden from the directory but that doesn't get me all the way.

Do I just need to force all calls directly to vmail and if so, what's the best way to accomplish that?

I'm beginning to think I assign him a new DID and have it blocked/hidden.

    Thanks.

Buy Professional Call Manager for that user and write personalized call handling rules to accomplish what you want....

That's awful! :dots: It may be true but it's still awful.

        Question (for anyone on 9.1)
It says call manager does not need to be running to execute these custom rules.
If a person starts out with, say, operator manager (higher than Professional I think) and configures everything - if they then are knocked back to Personal - will the rules still exist/work?

Getting a little creative...Change his Extension to a non-DID. Turn his old DID/EXT into a Menu...do what ever you would like for any of the selections; sent to Mailboxes, other people, Announcements...what ever you would like and set the 'Time out' and one of the choices his new Extension...This should fix you up both internal and external.

And the best way to force calls to voicemail is in on the Call Handling Mode. Just set it to always?
You can also reduce the number of calls by reducing the 'CallStack'.
