  • shoretel client upgrade question

ok, I just read that you have to be on windows xp to use shoretel 7... we have several windows 2000 desktops still. Does anyone know if you have to upgrade all clients to shoretel 7 when you upgrade the server/switches? I am hoping that I can upgrade only the ones that meet the requirements while doing the rest when they get their new desktops later this year. I am also hoping that the 6.1 clients will continue to work, only not gaining the new functionality until they get upgraded to 7... someone... anyone?

ok, I tested it myself... just a fyi, if you upgrade to shoretel 7 when you open up a client it will force you to upgrade, if you don't it closes it for you. DOH!

Does that mean that your 2000 machines won't work?

I have not gotten to test that yet, also not sure about the office 2000 installs yet either....

Due to Microsoft discontinuing support with Windows 2000, so is ShoreTel. I tried messing around with the registry and other files in order to disable the update, but no luck.
