  • Upgrading: from 5.2 to 6.1 - install 7.5 before licensing 6.1?


    I just upgraded one of our older sites from 5.2 to 6.1. Of course, as expected, 6.1 complains of an invalid license. The install guide says this will happen and to request a new key, which I did - yesterday. I expect a new key in 3 days or so.

    My question is, can I just go ahead and upgrade from 6.1 now to 7.5 without having first received my new 6.1 key from Shoretel?

    The reason I ask is because it is the weekend and it is a convenient time to do the upgrade. If I can install 7.5 over 6.1 right now, even though 6.1 doesn't have a new key, I would like to get the upgrade taken care of ASAP.

    The license key would be the same, regardless of the version. I've never tried, but what can it hurt? Do a backup first, in case you have to restore.
