  • user part of auto attendent

    I can't delete a user that is part of an auto attendent. That is great. But if that user no longer works here and I need to put a replacement in with the same extension, how do I do that?

    I could just change the name on the account to the new user, but the voicemail will still be set up for the old user correct? Is there a way to just default reset the voicemail for an account?

    You can delete anyone you want, you just have to make sure that extension is not be use by the system somewhere else. Just go in and change the password and then reassign the VM account.

      I understand I can delete the account if I go into my auto attendents and edit all of them first. That is a pain, then I would have to go in and edit all of them again with the new person.

      If I change the VM password on the account, it doesn't delete the recordings or existing voicemails. Does it?

        No... Changing the password only effects the password. The new user will need to rerecord the voicemail greetings. I would think that deleting the account would wipe any voicemails, but if not you will need to login to the phone and delete the existing voicemails.

          I haven't tried this, but what if you change in their profile to extension only and save, then reassign back to ext and mailbox. That might wipe the messages and you can start clean.
