  • Control workgroup via command line or programmatically?

Hello all - we have an Ascom i75 phone on the system and I would like to simplify the process of switching the Operator workgroup to ring to its extension.

Currently the i75 is set up as a SIP extension. Works great, does what we need.

If we want the Operator workgroup to ring to the cordless extension, we have to fire up the Shoreware Director, log in, then go to Workgroups|Operator|On-hours and check the radio button to always dial the i75 extension. Then click SAVE on the workgroup settings and then incoming calls ring to the cordless phone.

To reverse the process you have to log in, go to Workgroups|Operator|On-hours and check the radio button to "No Answer/Busy" to have the queue operate again.

Is there a way to automate that process? I would like to create a button to toggle the calls to the cordless and back, but cannot find anything in the Shoretel documentation. If it could be done via a batch file or vbscript I'd use it.

    Any suggestions welcomed,

    Thanks,
    Mark Evinger

I recommend you create a hunt group and route the calls through this in some way. Set the No Answer destination to one location and the Call Stack Full destination to the other. From the phone, dial *18<extension> to busy/unbusy the hunt group.
