Disable names from Dial by name but keep in directory

Hello All!

I am a fairly new shoretel admin and I have a unique issue. We have some "high value" people on our staff that we don't want included in the public dial by name directory but do want on the internal directory (through the "Directory" button on the ip230 phones).

Any idea on how to do that? Basically, it seems that I only have the "Include in System Dial By Name Directory" When I uncheck that it removes them from the dial by name AND the internal phone directory.

Anywhere where someone can dial by name, set up an extension list with the users who are allowed to be dialed.

Under Users->Extension Lists. Add a new list.

In the AA, under the Multiple Digits action, click on the -- and choose the list to use.

Thats should be to seperate issues. The include in system dial by name and make number private (phone directory button). You should be able to uncheck system dial by name (removes from AA dial by name) and the make private will remove/add name from or to the phone button directory.
