  • Analog Extension (Cordless Phone) Display shows Hunt Group Ext and not Caller ID

The Cordless phone only dipslays two lines so you see the name of the hunt group and the hunt group's extension but there is not a third line to display the actual caller ID. Can I adjust how it displays? I don't need to see the hunt group that the call is coming from. I prefer to just see the Caller ID.

    Thanks!

ShoreTel does not control the phone display for analog phones. This is simply the caller ID that ShoreTel sends for a hunt group call. If you want the caller's number to come through, try using a workgroup.

what type of trunking are you using. Basically what i am wondering is if loop start pots lines is your trunks of choice then ring cycle maybe your issue.

        Same as 110/115

This is he same issue that you have to endure with the "small sets." A simple answer is that you cannot have CID displayed on these phones in order to sell more 230's and up.
Should they desire it would be a simple thing of clicking on what you want in the display. I'd wager that for $3K you could get Professional Services to write a fix.
BTB a $99 system will do it. :_unsure:

I thinkt he workgroup option might work because if you call the AA and dial the analog ext it transfers it and the display on the phone shows the CID. So I am pretty sure the trunks are setup properly. I think it is just a function of the system to display the hunt group name and extension before showing the cid.

          Thank you for your help!

Yes, you can also confirm this by looking at the caller ID call manager shows (Or in my case, what ShoreTel's STML Browser shows). For hunt groups it shows the hunt group name. For workgroups, it shows the real caller ID.
