  • ShoreTel outside the US

I know ShoreTel is adding various dialing plans for countries other then the US, but we are in countries they are not yet. Until recently our international sites have been small 2-3 person offices, but recently we added a significant manufacturing facility in Mexico. ShoreTel had said that support in Mexico was due 8/31/06, then 9/30/06, then.. then.. 'Still in QA...' etc...
We already use ShoreTel phones in Mexico for calls to and from the US, but must use seperate Mexican based analog phones for calls inside Mexico. This band-aid has worked Ok during ramp up, but is now becoming very painful. Is there anyway to trick the system to support alternate Dialing Plans? Has anyone had any luck in Mexico?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We were just disussing an 80 user install for our Tijuana facility to replace out nortel option 11 and an aging Activevoice/replay (yes DOS) based voicemail system.

Whoopps, good thing I came by your post - That would have been embarrassing!

The Shoretel 7 Install_plan guide guide Shows no software support for Mexico.

Looks like I have to wait as well :-(

What about using a SIP ATA for your trunk connections in the meantime?

The SIP ATA will get the trunks connected but the dialing plan is not understood. The system would need to inter-mingle the US and Mexican dialing plan. We've tested things using an analog port, and the system just doesn't know how to dial numbers in Mexico. We even tried using a different access code (8 vs 9). Maybe we're missing something.
