  • Call Manager not communicating with server??

I have one client that all of a sudden the call manager decided to stop communicating with the Shoretel server. If I bring up call manager, the history icon in the lower right of the call manager box has a red x through it. If I click on it, all it does is bring up a blank history report. I check the settings and even went as far as uninstalling & reinstalling call manager. I'm stumped. Anyone have an idea where I should go next??

    Thanks.

Call Manager communicates over HTTP. Have you checked
    1. Firewall settings
    2. Internet Explorer proxy settings

Put your cursor in the quick dial box and hit ctrl-F12. It should bring up the debug screen. Is CSIS connectivity good?

You can also test CSIS connectivity from a client machine by opening a web browser and going to:

Change server name to be the DNS or IP of Director.

        It should return:

        10;0x00000000;4;5440

          cburgy -

CSIS is good. Everything you mentioned above worked.

TAPI might be messed up on windows (and the line is disconnected). Check Modem and TAPI settings under control panel. You'll see the Shoretel tapi provider. It should show connected with the line information.

            Connection type: ShoreTel User
            Server: 192.168.25.10 (192.168.25.10)
            Login: cburgy
            Connect: 7:42:22 AM 3/25/2009
            Devices: 2 lines, 1 phone

Click add and you should be able to select Shoretel as the TAPI type.

Server will be Director DNS or IP.
login is their PCM login info.
                pass is PCM login password.

                Owned numbers is their extension.

Anyone know how I can get the Shoretel TAPI to show up in the list?

Something got hosed in the install on that machine. Run repair on Call Manager.

                      How did you deploy PCM?

Also... what is the OS (XP, Vista) and Service Pack level? If Vista, did you upgrade from XP on that machine with PCM previously installed?

Alright, here you go (and yes I have read this morning how PCM does not work on x64, but it has worked on this machine for months)...

                          Sony Vaio Laptop with dock
                          Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1
                          4GB RAM

No upgrade from XP. Ran PCM install locally with admin privilages.

64 Bit is flakey..... Unfortunately, you won't gain much traction in getting it resolved by Shoretel. Official support for 64-bit on PCM will come soon.

It appears it stopped working on the 26th of March. I'm going to try a system restore back to that point and see what happens. I'll post my results.
