  • Figuring out the Codec used

Is there any way to figure out what codec was used for a given call?

ideally it would be in a report but even if I had to look it up on a call by call basis.

I typically set up 2 custom codec lists and assign them as follows:

    Intrasite - Includes G711(PCMU/8000)

Intersite - Includes G729 and G711 (but with a lower priority)

This way I know exactly what codec a call will use and it eliminates the wideband codec (G722) that everyone complains about.

Well it's in the TmsNcc log file, but that is getting ugly...

Codec may also be recorded in the CDR? I've never looked for it, but somewhere in one of the mediastream tables perhaps?
