  • Transfer caller from an Auto Attendant option to a outside number

Im looking for a way to setup an option on a auto attendant that will transfer the caller to a outside number (a cell phone) for emergency purposes. I know I can direct an option to an extension and I can set that extension to have a delayed ring down number but it does not seem to work. Is this the correct way to accomplish this or is there a better way?

I have a similar configuration, only I use a mailbox only extension, that anwers the emergency, thakes the message, and then stats calling a list of 8 cell phone numbers, and it wont stop callign until the message is read.

we use it on weekends for emegency calls. is that what youre looking for?

I would use a route point and all call forward the route point off premise. Plus you will need to have trunk to trunk transfer turned on in the voicemail class of service as well.

Teleman is right. With the RP option you won't use a license either

Teleman a route point sounds like just what I need. I will try it out asap.
          Thanks!

Ok I created a route point and have it setup to always forward the call out to the emergency number. I then set the route point extension up as a go to extension option in the auto attendant. When I try the option from auto attendant I get a message stating that the extension is not valid and the main greeting repeats.
I have made sure the voicemails user group (voice mail notification) has a cos that allows trunk to trunk transfer but I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Well I tried it on my little lab system I have here at the office and I got the same result you did. Which is very odd because I've used the solution in the field for years. I eventually re booted the server and then it started to work. I have no idea why, but it did work after the re boot.
