  • Database table/field

    Does anyone know which database table/field contains the "email notification/delivery options" setting?

    Thanks,

    Marc

    I was looking for it the other day (briefly). I saw the table where they identified the type, but not where the actual setting is.

      by type, do you mean email a copy, email notification, and disable?

        I will not say for sure it is the same thing, but the only places I found a email entry was in the user/bridge ID field and in the escalation section. I do know we only change the email setting, and it changes the bridge setting by its self.

          Table: SendEmailForVMTypes defines the parameter:
          0= No email
          1= Email Notification
          2= Copy of VM in Email

          That above parameter is apparently used in:
          Table: Mailboxes
          Field: SendEmailForVMTypeID

          The actual email address you are sending it to is not defined in either table.

          *NOTE: this is Version 7, older versions may be slightly different!

            I think he's looking for a way to directly manipulate teh DB, that way he can change everybody in just a few moments, rather than going through each individual user profile.

            At least that's what I am guessing

              That is the info I needed. Thank you.

              You are guessing correctly Charles. It is hard to believe that Shoretel doesn't have a tool that will do this, expecially since it is a reasonably easy thing to do. I have not seen the batch utility for 7 yet, but it has A LOT of room for improvement from 6.1.

                I would go into the database where I said and change it there

                  How do I get the database to unlock? I can make a copy, do the changes, but I can't get the original to unlock to make changes or replace.

                    I believe you need to stop ShoreTel serives to get it to unlocak. You need to perform the same steps that you do to back it up before upgrading. In fact, make a backup before you start playing!

                        Here's what I remember...

                        1. Logon to Director
                        2. On the Quicklook screen, click on your Server (Right half of screen)
                        3. At the bottom, select "Stop All"
                        DO NOT REFRESH OR CLOSE THIS PAGE! IF YOU DO, YOU WILL HAVE TO REBOOT!!!
                        4. Make a copy of the DB, or any changes.
                        5. When completed, select "Start All" (if this page is still displayed. otherwise, reboot)

                        You don't want to do this during business hours, and that the best that I can remember. Do it at your own risk...anotherwards...don't blame me!!!

                        Wise man sayeth: Always have good backups!!!

                        Charles

                          Even with all services stopped, it tells me it is being used by another person or program.

                            Odd. I just made the changes (the one for VM notification type) on our system with a live running system. Didn't have any issues. Just opened it with Access, changed the value, and closed. Checked the profile, and it was changed.

                            Of course, I am running ST7, but I am sure I was able to do this in ST6 as well...

                            -Dunno...
